Hibari® is an Open Source Key Value Data-Base, developed by Gemini Technologies, that solves or improves on the handling of problems created by “BIG DATA”. Hibari® is a distributed data base (it runs on multiple nodes), runs on commodity hardware, and is replicated across the different nodes, thereby providing much-needed fault tolerance without a single point of failure.

The name Hibari® was chosen because it is Japanese for "skylark". The kanji characters stand for "Cloud Bird.
